PIANO SOLO
“Andrea Goretti’s music is highly introspective and meditative. The virtuosity lays below the surface, in the clever and controlled use of dynamics and harmony. Especially in his piano solo music, he is able to evoke subconscious feelings, far from the chaotic world in which we live. Andrea Goretti is working to achieve an original aesthetic combining modern jazz trends with classical and contemporary music. In his music you can hear a chorale or something like a two-voices invention in the middle of a free improvisation or a clusters’line.”

SILENCES: The Impossible Show
NOTE FROM THE EDITOR:
“Dear musician, because of a new virus,
I must explain why there was no postponement, but cancellation of this creation; I’m not sure how to make myself understood, but I stayed at home too – which doesn’t change me much –,
so I reread the notes accumulated over the past thirty years, particularly certain texts: this will help to understand my wish for a solo piano cover of these arias…”
UNUSUAL TRIO
Piano, sax & drums is an unusual combo in jazz music: hence the name of the trio. The absence of the double-bass leaves more freedom for an harmonic interplay between piano and saxophone, merged with modern drums grooves.
Line-up
Andrea Goretti piano and el. piano, compositions
Gabriele Fava tenor and soprano saxophone
Giacomo Ganzerli drums

A TRIBUTE TO JOHN TAYLOR
The music of John Taylor has fascinated me so much that I decided it had to be the topic of my thesis at the Conservatorio “A.Boito” of Parma (bachelor in Jazz Piano, supervisor: Alberto Tacchini). On YouTube you can hear:
Ambleside (John Taylor) – with Gabriele Fava on soprano sax
THE MUSIC OF THE JOHN ABERCROMBIE QUARTET (1979-1981)
This project was born as Marcello Mangiavacca (el. guitar) ‘s thesis at Conservatory of Parma. We play the music of the John Abercrombie Quartet recorded for ECM at the end of the 70’s (in the albums Arcade, Abercrombie Quartet, M).
- Arcade (John Abercrombie)
- Madagascar (Richie Beirach)
- Dear Rain (John Abercrombie)
