The project
Without a double bass the piano gains wide harmonic freedom, also in its dialogue with the sax, and the music floats on the drive of the drums. Andrea Goretti’s original compositions – dreamlike and twilit, yet with moments of strong rhythmic intensity – rest on an equal relationship between the instruments, each musician constantly moving between soloist and accompanist. The repertoire also includes homages to John Taylor, Andrew Hill and Steve Lacy.
Line-ups
The project lives in two line-ups, in Italy and in Austria: same music, same repertoire, different musicians.
- Italy – Gabriele Fava (tenor and soprano sax), Giacomo Ganzerli (drums)
- Austria – Lisa Hofmaninger (sax), Lukas Aichinger (drums)
A group definitely worth keeping an eye on, convincing also through the strength of its interplay, the rapport between the musicians, and solos played with utmost passion and deep feeling.
